High-Strength Performance 3M™ Venture Tape™ Aluminum Foil Tape 1521CW is a 1.4 mil, high-strength, dead soft aluminum foil tape that excels in demanding temperatures and humidity applications. This tape offers superior resistance to weathering, mold, UV and extreme environmental conditions. A dead soft aluminum backing conforms around corners and to curved and irregular surfaces with ease. It is an ideal choice for applications on fibrous and sheet metal ductwork. The tape is hand tearable and installs easily, eliminating the need for additional tools or application methods. 3M™ Venture Tape™ Aluminum Foil Tape 1521CW is UL723 classified (10/10 5/10 Flame/Smoke Rating) [UL file #R10984]. It is U.S. Coast Guard Approved (CGA #164.112/63/0). Recommended Applications • Vapor seal for reinforced fiberglass and mineral wool thermal insulation • Seam and joint sealing on sheet metal and fibrous ductwork Excels in Demanding Temperature and Humidity Applications 3M™ Venture Tape™ Aluminum Foil Tape 1521CW is coated with a pressure sensitive cold weather solvent acrylic adhesive specifically designed for cold weather applications. This adhesive performs well in both demanding temperature and humidity applications. It adheres immediately on contact to a variety of materials, including fibrous and sheet metal ducts. With a service temperature ranging from -40°F/-40°C to 250°F/121°C, this tape can be applied in a variety of environmental conditions. Once bonded, it will provide good holding power for extended periods with good aging properties that resists lifting and curling. 3M™ Metal Foil Tapes Aluminum is just one of the metal-backed tapes available from 3M. 3M™ Venture Tape™ Aluminum Foil Tape 1521CW is a conformable, 2.8 mil tape that is suitable for masking and sealing in general-purpose heat shielding and light-reflecting applications. Coated with cold-weather acrylic adhesive, this durable tape performs well in a wide range of environmental conditions, and bonds and seals at temperatures as low as -10 °F (-23 °C). It is backed by foil that allows it to easily conform to irregular surfaces and on fibrous and sheet metal ductwork. This pressure-sensitive tape is hand tearable and adheres quickly without special application methods or additional tools. It maintains its form without lifting or curling, even after an extended period of time. This tape meets the UL723 flame/smoke rating, as well as the CAN/ULC S102 classification flame/smoke rating. For optimal performance in cold environments, 3M™ Venture Tape™ Aluminum Foil Tape 1521CW provides a durable bond in various masking and sealing operations.
