To accomplish this, this roll uses fine grades of aluminum oxide abrasive grain, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long useful lifespan. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness and strength, it is widely used for a variety of sanding and finishing applications.Tough Design3M™ Paper Roll 251VM is made to stand up to continuous use and limit the need for belt replacement. This is especially important because of the intricate design of automotive crankshafts. This roll has an E-weight backing, which is one of the strongest among paper backings. It also uses a resilient resin bonding, which firmly holds the abrasive grains in place and resists heat buildup that could damage the crankshaft. These features combine to make belts that can run for long periods of time while finishing in tight grooves.
