Performance in Difficult Applications3M™ Vibration Damping Tape 436 is a 17.5 mil thick, silver, dead soft aluminum foil tape. It is designed to reduce noise and absorb and dissipate vibration, primarily by reducing structure-borne noise in metal and composite panels and support structures. It can achieve effective damping with as little as 10% surface coverage. This tape is durable. It will resist moisture, weather, UV degradation and flame. It is a long aging, chemical resistant tape that offers good performance over a wide range of temperatures, particularly lower temperatures. It will perform in temperatures as low as -76F/-60C. It also reduces vibrational fatigue to decrease wear and tear on parts and lower the risk of part loosening and displacement. The adhesive is pressure sensitive for easy self-fixturing application.
