Silicon Carbide Abrasive3M™ Paper Disc 466UZ uses silicon carbide, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of the smooth finish it produces. This synthetic mineral is very hard and fractures easily, resulting in freshly exposed sharp edges that produce a professional-looking finish. Silicon carbide products are commonly used for low-pressure applications such as finishing on wood and metal.Heat and Static ResistanceThis paper also uses a resin bonding specially designed to resist thermal deterioration, which can occur during sanding. This bond is very tough, and is excellent for precision work on hard and soft wood. This disc also features 3M dust management technology that reduces static in the dust particles, allowing them to be pulled away more easily when coupled with an efficient dust collection system.
